Arafah: The Witnessed Day
By: Hafidha Aabidah Abdulsalam
Lesson and Reflections Dhul Hijjah & the Day of Arafah
The session served as a beautiful reminder about the virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and the importance of the Day of Arafah. Attendees were encouraged to renew their intentions sincerely for Allah and strive in acts of worship during these blessed days.
Reflections centered around the stories of Ibrahim, Hajar, and Ismail عليهم السلام, highlighting patience, sacrifice, obedience, tawakkul, and complete trust in Allah’s plan. Participants were reminded that true submission to Allah is shown through sincerity and steadfastness during both ease and hardship.
The workshop also emphasized the importance of dua, istighfar, dhikr, fasting, good character, charity, and maintaining strong ties with family and the Ummah. Many sisters reflected on wanting to improve their salah, increase remembrance of Allah, and become more intentional in their worship.
We ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to accept our efforts, forgive our shortcomings, and allow us to witness many more blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. Ameen.
